科技公司中的经济学家和经济学

学术与实践的相互转换

  这个领域的经济学家拥有越来越多机遇在学术与实践之间转换职业跑道。微软、谷歌、雅虎、脸书、亚马逊、易趣、Yelp和优步等公司都邀请教师在休假时去公司工作。不少获得终身教职的教员离开学界去亚马逊和谷歌等公司觅得职位。此外,科技公司的从业者也会转入学界,如离开脸书和微软去麻省理工学院和斯坦福大学就职。我们深信这只是一股更大浪潮的序幕,越来越多学院派经济学家会把时间花在实践工作上,更加深入地了解对科技公司的效率和利润率最为重要的问题,并努力探索商界尚未解决但可能会促使相关学术研究“开花结果”的问题。随着越来越多获得博士学位的经济学者接受科技公司伸出的橄榄枝,仍然醉心于学术研究的人会找到更清晰的途径从事学术研究或重新进入学界。对于那些希望在职业发展上保持灵活性的经济学家来说,如果公司允许他们在为公司工作的同时继续发布研究成果,那么公司会在招募这些经济学家并使他们安心留在公司方面占据显著优势。
